Key-account management

The account manager who answers for the invoices

Your shipper sees D&D as your failure even when the carrier caused it. You need the recovery numbers, the causes, and the ammunition for the next contract.

The conversation with the shipper

"Why did we pay USD 42,000 in D&D last quarter?" is answered badly with "the carriers" and well with a table: billed, disputed, recovered, by carrier and cause, with the top three causes explained. The recovery report produces the table from the tracker.

The conversation with the carrier

Twelve months of dispute files is the evidence that a carrier's billing system is not applying the contract, or that a lane's roll rate is generating detention. It is the strongest input a procurement team can bring to a renewal — and it is a by-product of the desk's daily work, not a project.
