Every demurrage invoice, argued from the documents — not from memory.
D&D Pilot reads the carrier invoice, the bill of lading, the gate and terminal events, your contract's free-time clauses and the email thread, then builds the timeline, checks the invoice against the clause, lists what evidence is missing and drafts the dispute letter. Your team decides; the agent does the reading.
- One shipment in, one dispute file out: timeline, clause check, evidence gaps, letter draft
- Handles the ugly inputs — scanned invoices, forwarded emails, terminal screenshots
- Per-shipment pricing that stays below the money it recovers

The work it takes off your desk
Who it is for: Freight forwarders, 3PLs and freight-audit teams who contest D&D and accessorial invoices for shippers.
Evidence lives in five places
Invoice in the carrier portal, events in the terminal system, the clause in a PDF contract, the argument in email. Someone assembles it by hand for every dispute.
Small invoices go unchallenged
Below a few hundred dollars it is cheaper to pay than to spend an hour building the case — so the carrier wins by default.
The clause is never where you need it
Free-time terms differ by carrier, lane and contract year; the person disputing rarely has the right version open.
From the case library
28 situations documented so far — each with the documents involved, what the agent does and what you get back.
Customs hold extended free time but the invoice ignores it
Customs placed the container on hold from 4 to 9 September. The contract excludes government holds from free time; the i…
Invoice arrives as a scanned statement with 60 containers

The argument lives in a 30-message email thread

How it works
Deterministic where it should be deterministic; a language model only where documents have to be read and explained. Every output cites its source.
You give it
Carrier or terminal invoice, B/L, booking confirmation, gate-in/gate-out and vessel events (EDI, portal export or screenshot), your contract or tariff with free-time terms, and the email thread with the carrier.
The agent
Extracts dates and references from every document, builds a single timeline, computes free time and chargeable days under the clause that applies, compares with the invoice line by line, and flags inconsistencies (events the carrier's invoice ignores, holidays miscounted, wrong tariff).
You get back
A dispute file: timeline with sources, clause-by-clause check, computed vs invoiced days, list of missing evidence to request, and a dispute letter draft in the carrier's preferred format. Export to PDF or your TMS notes.
A dispute file reads 5–15 documents and an email thread per shipment. Teams handling 10–50 disputed shipments a day run roughly 20–100 million tokens a month. Day-count maths is deterministic code; the model is spent on reading documents and drafting.
Pricing
One Dispute File = one shipment analysed end to end (timeline, clause check, gaps, letter). Re-runs on the same shipment within 30 days are free. Model tokens are a separate meter billed at the provider's list price. Bring your own key (BYOK) and the model meter is zero; use our channel and tokens appear on the same Google Cloud invoice.

Security and data
One company, one set of policies, across every product we ship.
Your documents stay yours
Tenant-isolated storage on Google Cloud; retention you set; deletion on demand; never used to train models.
One legal framework
Privacy policy, terms, DPA (GDPR / UK GDPR / PDPO) and the sub-processor list are published once at carnegieintel.com and apply to every product.
Transparent metering
Every metered unit is itemised with request ids in your workspace before it reaches your invoice. Model tokens are billed at the provider's list price, never marked up silently.
Questions
Does it file the dispute with the carrier?
No. It prepares the file and the letter; your team reviews and sends. Nothing is sent to a carrier without a person pressing the button.
Can it read our carrier contracts?
Yes — upload contracts or tariffs once; the agent picks the clause that applies by carrier, lane and validity period and shows you which one it used.
Does it work for detention, storage and other accessorials too?
Yes. Demurrage, detention, storage, chassis and similar time-based charges. Weight/dimension disputes are not in scope.
Which systems does it connect to?
None are required. Upload exports, forward emails, or paste. API access for TMS integration is available on Enterprise.
Where is our data?
Google Cloud, asia-east1 by default (EU/US on request). Shipment files are retained for the period you choose (default 180 days) and can be deleted on demand.
How do we buy?
Through Google Cloud Marketplace on your existing Google Cloud invoice, or directly by invoice.
